We Are All Artists | Lanre Obaromi | TEDxJewels Leading Lights Youth
This talk, We Are All Artists, by Lanre Obaromi, is a heartfelt celebration of what it truly means to be human—through the timeless language of art. From childhood silence to creative awakening, Lanre shares how a single pencil sketch became his first voice in a noisy world. In this moving talk, he reminds us that art is not limited to galleries or stages—it lives in everyday gestures, in culture, in memory, and in the quiet corners of our souls.Whether it’s the hum of a melody, the boldness of a brushstroke, or the design of a city skyline, art holds the power to speak when words fail, to connect when walls rise, and to heal when wounds run deep.? Why does a simple drawing move one person to tears and another to laughter?
? Why do we remember songs long after we forget names?Because art doesn’t just mirror life—it transforms it.Lanre invites us to see art not as a luxury, but as a necessity. Not as something elite, but as something everyone creates. His message is clear and universal: We are all artists. And in a world that often feels fractured, it is art that holds the pieces together. Lanre is a composed and service-driven 16-year-old Year 12 learner who embodies discipline and humility. In his role as Sports Prefect for the 2023/2024 academic session, he mentored younger students and promoted teamwork across the school.
His leadership extended into community work through the Mega Jewels Award, where he helped build a mini library for an orphanage and organized environmental clean-up campaigns. Lanre was awarded the 2025 Sportsmanship Award for his character and dedication, setting an inspiring example of values-based leadership.
