DeHaat co-founder Shashank Kumar shares how self-awareness, unlearning, and relearning shaped his journey from a lower-middle-class background in Bihar to building one of India’s leading agritech startups—reminding us that true wisdom begins within. Shashank Kumar, an IIT Delhi alumnus and AgriTech pioneer, is the Co-Founder & CEO of DeHaat, one of India’s largest business-to-farmer (B2F) platforms serving over 10 million farmers across 12 states. An Ashoka Fellow and a recipient of Forbes 30 Under 30 and ET 40 Under 40, he has been instrumental in revolutionizing Indian agriculture through technology-driven solutions. Under his leadership, DeHaat has raised $220M+ in investments, empowering rural micro-entrepreneurs and transforming farming into a scalable and profitable venture. The children began by singing the anthem of the municipality, followed by a song about a local delicacy known as "pão de arroz"—a type of couscous made with rice flour and peanuts. Finally, they performed the song Bem-te-vi by Renato Terra. The choir is conducted by Maestro Diego and teacher Sâmia. A choir formed by children of various ages who are supported by the social project Casa Mãe, founded by Mrs. Renata and Mrs. Bilinha.
