Why communication is a two-way power tool | Mark Wilhelm | TEDxAvi Cenna Intl School

Mark Wilhelm shares how true communication goes beyond just talking—it’s about listening, empathy, and timing. Drawing from real-life experiences in mentoring and leadership, he shows how poor communication can create distance, while thoughtful connection can heal and build trust. His talk offers practical tips for more meaningful conversations and encourages us to know more about how to truly connect, and say no more to being misunderstood or unheard. Mark Wilhem is a self-proclaimed Graduate of the ‘School of hard Knocks’, an IT Digital Transformation Consultant, a leadership and soft skills mentor, as well as father of two students in Avi-cenna international school. He began his professional career teaching computers to primary school students, and rapidly moved to setting up his first company offering IT services at the age of 17. Fast forward 39 years, and he is now a leading Digital Transformation Consultant to a variety of clients. He also enjoys Mentoring and teaching both youths and adults alike to assist them on their path in Life as well as professional advancement. He believes that one of the key gifts that has helped him make such an impact has been his ability to simplify and communicate complex terms and technology into easy-to-understand analogies that allow for better understanding by everyone. He first applied this to technology and computers, but also found that the same skill could be applied to any topic. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
