Prof. Dr. İsmail Tuncer Değim graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1985, earned his MSc from Gazi University in 1988, and completed his PhD at Cardiff University, UK in 1996. He became a Professor at Gazi University in 2009 and served as Dean (2012–2016). Since 2016, he has been at Biruni University. He has over 55 national and international publications, book chapters, and has served on editorial and advisory boards of several scientific journals. He supervised 11 MSc/PhD theses and contributed to 16 TÜBİTAK/BAP projects. He holds patents on iontophoresis-based blood urea measurement, electrohemodialysis cartridges, and extended-release tablets. He received the Novartis publication award (2005) and Mustafa Nevzat Pharmacy Award (2012). His research focuses on controlled release systems, iontophoresis, dermal drug delivery, pharmaceutical formulations, nanotechnology, and aerospace pharmacy. From one small invitation to a blooming community movement, Pascale-Sara Frenette shows how connection, care, and courage can turn neighbours into a force for change. Pascale-Sara Frenette is a grassroots organizer, writer, and community advocate based in Mission, BC. She is a founding member and current president of the Dunsmuir Neighbourhood Association and played a central role in launching the Dunsmuir Urban Community Garden, a community space focused on food security, cultural connection, and collective care. Over many years, Pascale-Sara has helped turn a small neighbourhood network into a recognized local movement; organizing events, building partnerships, and advocating for people to organize, gather, and raise their voices in the places they call home. A single positive action by a stranger changed my outlook on life. I had no idea then just how lasting that change would be. Inayath Mohamed is a pragmatic, die hard optimist with a global outlook for whom the glass is always half full. An elementary school teacher in the Mission School District, Inayath refuses to believe that the world sucks! He has come to this conclusion based on the positive (and often humorous) events he has experienced while living and working as an elementary school teacher in Indonesia, Oman, Singapore, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and now back home in Canada.
