Nacido en Bangkok en 1947, Tew Bunnag se licenció en Economía por la Universidad de Cambridge (Reino Unido) en 1968.Su trayectoria profesional se ha caracterizado por su dedicación a la enseñanza y la práctica de la meditación y el Tai Chi. En 1975, comenzó su labor como profesor de meditación y Tai Chi en el centro Chapter House (Reino Unido). Posteriormente, en 1979, ejerció como profesor en Le Centre des Études Bouddhiques, en Grenoble (Francia).Durante los años 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982 y 1983, asistió a cursos en California, EEUU. En 1986, fue invitado a iniciar la Sociedad Buddhista en Atenas y la Escuela Europea de Tai Chi en Inglaterra.Desde 1978 hasta 2023, Tew Bunnag impartió cursos en diversos países, incluyendo Reino Unido, Francia, Suiza, Noruega, Grecia, Portugal y Tailandia.Su compromiso con el desarrollo humano se refleja en su trabajo para la Human Development Foundation en Bangkok, donde ha desempeñado el rol de Miembro de la Junta y actualmente ejerce como consejero del Mercy Center y de la Fundación Little Birds (2000-2023).En 2014, fue uno de los fundadores y actualmente es consejero de la Asociación Vinyana en España. - 9:37We need ugly art — here’s why | MJ Chiao | TEDxUBCWhen we think academia, the comic book and comic form is usually overlooked as a piece of valuable literary scholarship. Comics are often presumed as not academic or critical enough to be a valid source of literary study, and if they are to be taken seriously only a certain kind of tragic, memoir style are considered worth analyzing. By arguing that ‘bad art’, ‘ugly comics’, or ‘juvenile fiction’ are necessary fragments of history to navigate the quickly developing world around us, MJ Chiao advocates for the comics form as a radical form of activism and social remembering. Ugly comics becomes survival. MJ Chiao is a fourth year English Literature student who is passionate about comics and graphic forms. With a love for teaching and writing, MJ wishes to challenge the status quo of English studies and academia to encompass the new medias and technologies of our everyday.
