The power of getting it wrong | Ali Majeed | TEDxSunmarkeSchool

In a world focused on trophies, titles and outcomes, we often forget to look at what really shapes us. In this powerful talk, Ali explores what lies beyond the surface of success. He shares how failure is not a setback but a vital part of growth. Through honest reflection and personal experience, Ali shows how the moments we fall short are often the moments that shape us the most. This talk invites us to rethink how we define progress and to see failure not as the end but as the beginning of real transformation. Ali Majeed is a 17-year-old student from Pakistan and an aspiring mechatronics engineer. Currently pursuing his A levels, he has a strong interest in mathematics and has participated in competitions such as the UKMT and KenKen. Beyond academics, Ali is passionate about exploring the mental challenges individuals face, especially in high-pressure environments like sports. His work aims to bring attention to the hidden emotional struggles that often go unnoticed behind performance and success. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
