Transforming Dreams into Reality | Lina Almaeena | TEDxAIS Jeddah Youth
A young Saudi woman does the impossible when she goes against the rules and brings sports to young female Saudis. Now she's on the stage, sharing how dreams can become a reality, even when social constraints hold you back. Lina Khaled Almaeena, member of the Saudi Shura Council 2016-2020, a powerhouse in the world of women's sports and entrepreneurship is an advisor for UBT and chairperson of National Sports Talent (Jeddah United Club). Lina has made history as the winner of the first Saudi Games in women's basketball. She has also been a speaker at numerous local and international conferences on the topic of women and sports, an opinion writer for several publications, and was recognized with the Entrepreneurship Award at the Women in Leadership Forum in 2010.Some notable recognitions include: member of the Saudi Special Olympic Committee, contributor to the 2012 National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign as part of a group of ten Saudi women who have climbed the Everest Base Camp, member of the top 20 Young Leaders from the Middle East and North Africa, and member of the sports investment committee in the chamber of commerce 2014-2018. Lina Almaeena is Vice President of the Saudi Sports for All Federation and a member of the National Committee of Entrepreneurship .
