Breaking the Glass Ceiling | Calista Kardos | TEDxSt Georges Cologne Youth

Conversations about gender equality are louder than ever. Yet amid the headlines, hashtags, and heated debates, how often do we pause to ask: Why are certain jobs still tied to gender? And why do outdated stereotypes continue to exist in modern spaces? This isn’t just about chasing titles or breaking milestones—it’s about noticing the invisible barriers we’ve been conditioned to overlook. I invite you to step back, look beyond the labels, and question who belongs where—and why. Calista Kardos, Prefect at St. George's The British International School, is a passionate advocate for gender equality and a driven student leader. As Editor of the Yearbook Club and a dedicated member of the Football Club, she thrives in both creative and competitive environments. Through mentoring younger students, Calista empowers others to break boundaries and rise beyond stereotypes— a belief she’s brought to life by thriving in a sport where women are often underrepresented. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
