What if dignity and opportunity for girls started with something as simple as a sanitary pad? In this TEDx talk, entrepreneur Rebecca Osam introduces her bold solution to period poverty: producing high-quality, affordable menstrual products so that no girl is held back from school or her dreams. But can dream and achieve her goals.Through the 1000 Girls Project, Rebecca’s initiative provides a year’s supply of sanitary pads to girls across Ghana, ensuring they can learn to lead and thrive without any socio-economic barriers. Her idea on how real empowerment begins with access to the basics inspires many including entrepreneurs. Ms. Rebecca Osam is a visionary entrepreneur with a background in performing arts from the UK. She studied at Richmond upon Thames College and worked in theatre, television, and music, including a girl band managed by Outside Organisation.
