Despre căutare, eșec și vindecare | Mihail Sandu | TEDxCopou
For the first time on a TEDx stage, Mihail stepped in front of the TEDxCopou audience with emotion and courage, offering a sincere, deep dive into his own story—a journey of searching, falling, and healing. He spoke about moments of losing his way, the pressure of fame, and the need to reconnect with himself. After the huge success of the song “Mă ucide ea,” he felt overwhelmed and detached, choosing not to perform it for seven years while retreating to rediscover who he was.Mihail also shared a striking experience: nine months spent in isolation—alone in a wilderness cabin with only cats, mice, and a dog for company. There, between silence and domestic chaos, he wrote, meditated, and found himself again through music. On the TEDxCopou stage we met not just Mihail the artist, but Mihail the person—vulnerable, profound, authentic. He closed with a moving performance of a song he composed on Grigore Vieru’s poem “Ca prima oară,” leaving the audience with tears in their eyes and full hearts.a Originally from Moldova and now based in Cluj-Napoca, MIHAIL was creatively shaped by the nightlife scenes of Berlin and Krakow.
He has amassed over 180 million streams and views across digital platforms, scored multiple number-one hits in Romania, and achieved airplay success in Italy (platinum record), Spain, and Poland.
At the end of 2024, he released “Dincolo De Noi” (link), a single that quickly entered national radio playlists (Top 10 Mediaforest) and reached #2 on Shazam Romania.
Last year, MIHAIL was invited to perform at Glastonbury (UK) – one of the world’s biggest festivals – and Eurosonic (NL), Europe’s most prestigious showcase event.
Two long-awaited tracks, “DEFECT” and “INIMA”, already known to fans from live shows and YouTube, have just been officially released on all streaming platforms. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
