En ese contexto, ejerce como productor, compositor, guitarrista y creador del Tres Flamenco, un instrumento híbrido con el que ha desarrollado un lenguaje propio. Ha publicado la trilogía de Libro-Discos Razón de Son, La Raíz Eléctrica y La Razón Eléctrica (2014, 2017 y 2023), donde propone una “AntropoMúsica creativa de los cantes de ida y vuelta”, investigando las conexiones entre el flamenco y el entramado cultural del Caribe Afro-Andaluz.Con más de 30 años de trayectoria, ha trabajado con artistas como Kiko Veneno, Martirio (su madre), Javier Ruibal, Santiago Auserón, Caraoscura y Son de la Frontera, así como con leyendas como Chavela Vargas, Compay Segundo, Enrique Morente o Jackson Browne, entre muchos otros.En palabras de Santiago Auserón, “Raúl Rodríguez está tomando el testigo de la invención en la música popular española”, renovando tradiciones desde el conocimiento profundo y la creatividad.
