Electro pop is more than just a genre—but also serves as a space to deal with sorrow, joy, and everything in between. Clara Friska Adinda (vocal) and Emir Agung Mahendra (producer) were first met in Bandung. They proceed to form White Chorus who explores electro-pop genre in 2019. This dance isn’t only art - it’s a breath from spiritual legacy and maintained history from generation to generation. Nani Topeng Losari, a mask artist from Cirebon, is a descendant of Tari Topeng Losari tradition from her grandmother. Since childhood, she has dove into art through various spiritual stages, such as fasting and casting spells. In 1998, Nani was officially promoted into a Dalang Topeng Losari as the 7th generation, after undergoing a series of rituals.Her performance begins with thumps of drums and gamelan tunes in Cirebon style that immediately caught the attention of the audience. The procession begins with a prayer for smoothness, followed by an opening dance movement as if "presenting herself" and conveying a greeting of respect before wearing the Topeng Losari mask which is more than a hundred years old. This dance is not merely a spectacle, but a manifestation of respect, spirituality, and perseverance in preserving a tradition inherited across generations. Tarawangsawelas is a music group from Bandung, pioneered by Teguh Permana. This group blends Sundanese cosmology elements with a modern touch and social issues as the main inspiration, making life experiences a source of creativity. With their signature style, Tarawangsawelas has created numerous songs and albums, and performed on various music stages in Asia and Europe.In their performances, Tarawangsawelas brings a song titled Sekalipun from the album Wanci, released in 2017. This 12 minutes and 32 seconds long song is dominated by traditional West Javanese musical instruments—tarawangsa and jentreng—blended with modern pedal effects, creating a mystic and meditative music atmosphere. What if tales, music, and childhood memories intertwine in one story? Ratimaya began her career through leather puppets with her grandmother. Now, she is writing and telling tales across generations—for kids, teenagers, and adults. She has created more than 150 stories, 10 of which is summarized in the book Tilik Bantala Hawa (2023). With her husband, she has also created musical tales. In early 2024, they released a mini album called Rupa Cerita, containing 6 tale-themed songs in the form of nostalgic cassettes.Through Gadis Kecil dan Kincir Angin, Ratimaya takes us into reminiscing our childish side that never truly went away. We are brought home to an innocent heart, wild dreams, and never-ending imaginations. Atmosphere, music, and story blend into a warm embrace—bringing an experience that wakes every listener's inner child. Ratimaya sudah tertarik dengan dunia seni tutur sejak dia masih kecil, berawal dari menonton wayang kulit bersama neneknya lalu kebiasaannya mendongeng dengan anak-anak pedagang di sekitar selasar kampus. Is there room for shadow puppets among the younger generation, in the midst of modern pop culture? Daud is an illustrator, educator, and the creator “aniwayang”—an innovative combination of animation and shadow puppets, which resurrects local Indonesian folklore through adorable characters Cila, Cili, and Cilo. Inspired by his childhood immersed in shadow puppets performance, along with his professional experience in the world of children and animation, Daud created a new medium that bridges cultural heritage with the imagination of the younger generation.Through the “Desa Timun” folklore, he revives the shadow puppets tradition with a closer approach to children: relatable stories, unforgettable characters, and adorable visuals. From local stages to 12 countries, aniwayang serves as a bridge between tradition and the future. He believes that preserving culture does not always have to be rigid—sometimes, a little touch of adorable visuals can nurture a new fondness for ancestral heritage.
