Peering into the Western Mentality | Joyce Chow | TEDxSHSID Youth

Joyce, a seasoned Model United Nations (MUN) delegate, faced a struggle: at the Harvard MUN, she felt herself losing control of the situation despite preparing an 8400 word document in research for any scenario she thought she would face... Looking back, Joyce reflects on the differences between Asian mentality and Western mentality to life, choosing to combine the strengths of both to move forward with. Joyce is passionate about politics and law, with a focus on global issues. She’ll explore how perspective shapes power dynamics and how understanding different viewpoints is key to creating meaningful change in the world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
