Learning to create your own opportunities | Mick Griffin | TEDxWarsaw

In this inspiring TEDx Talk, Mick Griffin explores how fear of failure has led us to trade innovation for instruction in our careers and lives. Through personal stories and real-world examples, he shows what happens when we stop waiting for open doors and start creating our own. From reinventing his career in a foreign country to launching a global HR book-sharing movement, he proves that anyone can innovate when guides are gone. This talk is a powerful reminder that you are 1 of 1—and your unique value lies in the doors only you can build. In 2000 Mick signed a contract as a Professional Rugby Player, and in 2003 that career path ended. Today Mick is Chief Growth Officer for TRAFFIT and has spent 22 years in Sales and Marketing roles starting from the bottom of the ladder and using trial and error to help guide his journey. In 2008 Mick emigrated from Manchester, Uk to Gdynia, Poland where today he is a proud father and husband. His mission is to continue to help Polish businesses grow and develop internationally both at TRAFFIT and through his mentoring and community work. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
