How we get tricked by big data | Alicia Margono | TEDxUBC

Decisions from the minute, individual level to global-changing organizational strategies increasingly rely on large and rapidly-generated data sets. But do we have the right data? Who is being missed and why? If unaddressed, will these gaps continue to drive inequality at a faster pace with the rise of AI-driven decisions? Alicia Margono is a writer and advocate in human rights and mental health spaces, with a career in business and technology spaces. Passionate about research on social development goals at the global level, she completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of British Columbia in Psychology and International Relations. Her past talk was presented at TEDxCountdown, titled 'Labor Trafficking, Global Warming, and Taking Action'. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
