Disability As a Result of Human Behaviors | George Gougoulakis | TEDxNTUA

What truly defines disability? Is it a physical difference - or the result of its interaction with a non-inclusive society? How different would life be if we had the right infrastructure and a community that included everyone? In this talk, Giorgos Gougoulakis, an architect and wheelchair user, explores how society shapes the experience of disability. Through his unique perspective, he challenges us to imagine - and design - a world that welcomes all, a world where everyone genuinely belongs. George Gougoulakis graduated first in his class from the School of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2008. He completed his postgraduate studies at Politecnico di Milano, earning a Master in Transportation & Automobile Design, and carried out his internship at Maserati. He has worked at the design studio Torino Design and served as a teaching assistant at Politecnico di Milano. Since 2015, he has been working as an architectural engineer, and in 2021 he founded his own architectural firm, Gougoulakis Architects & Associates (G Architects). This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
