Closing the education gap, one village at a time | Raju Kendre | TEDxPFH Goettingen

Millions of talented young people in rural India are held back not by ability, but by access. In this talk, Raju Kendre shares his unique, inspiring story and explores how closing the education gap—one village at a time—can unlock human potential and transform entire communities. It’s a story of equity, resilience, and systemic change. Raju Kendre is an Indian social entrepreneur, scholar, and founder of Eklavya India Foundation, an organization dedicated to bridging the gap between marginalized students and higher education opportunities. As a development scientist, Kendre has contributed to research and practices focused on DEI, education, and social mobility. He earned his master’s degree from the SOAS University of London on the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. His impactful work empowers thousands of marginalized students by creating pathways to global education and leadership opportunities both in India and internationally. This has earned him accolades such as being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, along with fellowships from Ashoka, Echoing Green and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
