現代社会において人々は効率性を重視するあまり、娯楽の映画でさえ2倍速で鑑賞するなど、無駄を許容する余裕を持たない。しかし井上氏は、一見無駄と思えるような情報「ノイズ」にこそ創造性を発揮するヒントが隠れていると、人文科学という学問分野の観点から主張する。彼のトークは、AIが発達し、効率性が重視され、ノイズを削ぎ落とす傾向にある現代を生きる私たちに、ノイズに向き合う価値を見つめ直すきっかけを与える。In today’s efficiency-driven society, people have little room to appreciate “noise”—to the point that some even watch movies at double speed. Professor Inoue argues that what may seem like wasteful “noise” is, in fact, a potential treasure trove of creativity, especially from the perspective of the humanities, his area of expertise.
