Öğretmenlik yaptığı süreçte yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamladı. Öğretmenlik göreviyle eş zamanlı olarak proje yazarlığı ve yönetimi alanında çalışan Gamze Özyurt, Milli Eğitim Müdürlüklerinde proje koordinatörü olarak görev aldı. Valilik bünyesinde farklı alanlarda, daha geniş ölçekli projelerin yazımını ve yönetimini üstlendi. Bu süreçte gençler için çeşitli projeler geliştirdi.
