The Secret Behind Happy Communities | Jenn Dice | TEDxFargo

NOTE FROM TED: While some viewers may find this helpful as a complementary approach, please do not look to this talk as a substitute for health advice. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdfWhat do the happiest countries in the world have in common? They ride bikes! Join PeopleForBikes President and CEO Jenn Dice as she explores the simple, yet profound happiness that comes from riding a bicycle and how more safe and fun places to ride create happier, healthier, and more connected people and communities. As President and CEO of PeopleForBikes, a national bike advocacy association, she works to improve bike infrastructure, pass pro-bike legislation, and reduce barriers to bicycling. Growing up cycling in South Dakota and falling in love with mountain biking upon moving to Colorado, Jenn’s love of bicycling fuels her “why” which is to bring people together through the power of the bicycle. She believes that bikes are a solution to many of the problem’s communities face – health and wellness, mobility, access to opportunity, economic development, and more.An avid endurance mountain biker, Jenn has completed the Leadville Trail 100 14 times and even mountain biked down Mount Kilimanjaro (twice). Prior to PeopleForBikes, she led government relations for the International Mountain Bicycling Association, which earned her a spot in the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
