Telling Stories That Shape the Future | Massilia Aili | TEDxUnity Grammar Youth
Can storytelling change the world?
In this talk, we explore how journalism and personal narratives drive powerful movements—from Mohamed Bouazizi sparking the Arab Spring, Greta Thunberg inspiring climate action, and George Floyd’s story fueling global protests, to Malala’s quiet diary that launched an education revolution.Through these examples, we see how stories rooted in human experience evoke empathy, inspire action, and redefine societies. But with this power comes responsibility: to tell stories with dignity, purpose, and hope. Massilia is a News Journalist who holds a Bachelor degree in Communications Journalism and a Bachelor of Law. Having previously worked for the ABC and SBS, Massilia made history in Australia by being the first Hijab wearing News reporter on Commercial news bulletin on Channel nine. Massilia is also a refugee advocate and has actively worked to inspire young females from minority communities to pursue careers in media and journalism.
