"Ben televizyoncu değilim, rol yapamam." Çağlar Demirkapı, hayatındaki dönüm noktalarını “mihenk taşları” olarak tanımlıyor. Ona göre, yaşadıklarımız birikir ve dönüp baktığımızda hepsi bizi şekillendiren işaretlere dönüşür.İlk mihenk taşlarından biri, Afrika’dan duyduğu bir atasözü: “Olgun insan, yengecin yüreğinin nerede olduğunu bilir.” Bu, doğru zamanda doğru noktayı bulabilmenin metaforuydu. Onun için suyu bulmak da yengecin yüreğini bulmak gibiydi.Üniversite yıllarında izlediği “We Are the World” görüntüleri aklına bir soru düşürdü: “Acaba ben de yapabilir miyim? Neden olmasın?” Bu sorunun peşinden Amerika’ya yüksek lisansa gitti, hemodiyaliz alanında çalışmaya başladı. Orada tanıştığı küçük bir kız çocuğu – Fatma – için makineyi tamir etmeye çalıştıkları an, onun için dönüm noktalarından biriydi.
