How Places Are Born: The Convolution of Humans and Environment | Xenia Mastoraki | TEDxNTUA

How does a place become the convolution of its parts? How can design alter a place's social character? What is "placemaking" and its role in all that? Xenia Mastoraki is an Architect and Landscape Architect who promotes simplicity and spatial adaptability through innovative, bottom-up systems. Her work focuses on independent research and the dissemination of knowledge surrounding the modern design of sustainable public spaces. Through her studies, she develops practices that empower communities, shaping cities that are not only adaptable but also capable of evolving through challenges. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
