The Heart Behind the Art | Anand Madhusoodanan | TEDxMEC

Can a 30-second commercial change a life? For Anand Madhusoodanan, it did. In this inspiring talk, the acclaimed music composer and screenwriter takes us through his creative journey across the worlds of music, film, and Malayalam cinema. What remained constant was his self-belief—something he learned to cultivate from the age of eight. From crafting unforgettable melodies to penning impactful screenplays, Anand's story is a tribute to perseverance, passion, and the quiet confidence that fuels artistic success. His message is simple yet powerful: when art is made with love, it leaves a legacy far beyond the screen. His journey in Malayalam cinema is a testament to the transformative power of artistic passion. From his early fascination with the chenda, to becoming a multifaceted talent in the film industry, his path has been shaped by an unwavering dedication to music and storytelling. After pursuing audio engineering, Anand made his debut as a music composer with Molly Aunty Rocks. This breakthrough led to a fruitful collaboration with director Ranjith Shankar, resulting in memorable soundtracks for films like Pretham (2016), Punyalan Private Ltd. (2017), and Njan Marykutty (2018). His romantic composition “Podimeesha Mulakkana Kaalam” captured hearts across Kerala, becoming a milestone in his musical career and cementing his position in the industry. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
