19:13Gyorsítósáv a csillagok útján | Attila Munzlinger | TEDxCsíkszeredaCan you become an astronaut without ever leaving Earth? In this engaging talk, family physician and astrophotographer Dr. Attila Munzlinger shares his lifelong journey from childhood dreams of space exploration to capturing the deep cosmos from his backyard. He demystifies astrophotography, explaining how recent technological shifts from film to modern smartphone sensors have democratized astronomy. By encouraging street astronomy and accessible stargazing for the next generation, Attila demonstrates how a connection to the universe fosters scientific literacy, shields us from misinformation, and reminds us that Earth itself is our ultimate spaceship. How can the responsibility of a family medical practice coexist with the silence of the infinite universe? A dual vocation defines the daily life of Dr. Attila Munzlinger: by day, the family physician from Gyergyószárhegy is responsible for the healing of his patients, while by night, as an astrophotographer, he immerses himself in the silence of the boundless cosmos. His professional credo bears witness to the art of attention—a perspective that enables one to slow down and recognize the deeper interconnections of the world. Whether observing a heartbeat or capturing the light of a distant galaxy, his work reminds us that scientific precision and a cosmic perspective stem from the same profound humility. 19:48Határvonalak: a jövő nem kevesebb. Tudatosabb. | Levente Dósa | TEDxCsíkszeredaCan we balance our desire to explore nature with our duty to protect it? In this powerful talk, Levente Dósa takes us to the iconic Saint Anne Lake and Mohos Peat Bog in Transylvania, exploring this unique volcanic ecosystem as a living laboratory for environmental preservation. Reflecting on the impact of mass tourism and ecological changes, Levente introduces a forward-thinking solution: transforming the site into a modern eco-center. By replacing ecological disruption with conscious, educational, and sustainable tourism alternatives, he proves that protecting our natural heritage doesn't lessen the visitor experience—it deeply enriches it. There are places that are more than mere sights: they are parts of our heritage. For Levente Dósa, the surroundings of Szent Anna-tó are not simply a tourist destination, but a living laboratory where our future is decided. His story is about how we can find the balance between the desire to visit and the duty to protect. His message is simple yet poignant: true value lies not in consumption, but in the quiet attentiveness with which we turn toward nature. 16:17Néprajzos alakzatok. A mindennapok története. | Zsófia Bujtor | TEDxCsíkszeredaWhat can an 1890 complaint letter written by a village against their priest tell us about modern society? In this illuminating talk, ethnographer Zsófia Bujtor challenges traditional views on folklore, proving that contemporary ethnography is a vital tool for understanding human experience. Through archival research, she explores a historical conflict in Nagykovácsi, Hungary, to reveal how ordinary people navigated local power dynamics and an awakening civic consciousness. Ultimately, Zsófia demonstrates that by placing everyday stories at the center of research, we can truly understand the complex dynamics of both our past and present world. An ethnographic perspective and scientific rigor converge in the work of Zsófia Anna Bujtor, a graduating student at ELTE who researches the most fascinating intersections of history and ethnography. In her studies, she analyzes the functioning of local communities, highlighting how scholarly research can serve as a tool for social self-awareness. Her work stands as evidence that ethnography remains a relevant and indispensable instrument today for understanding the dynamics of our own environment and the sustaining power of traditions.
