I funghi in natura creano connessione tra le piante. Da loro impariamo a connettere ambiti diversi della scienza. Un prototipo di arnia diventa un bioincubatore per i funghi bioluminescenti utili nella ricerca di nuovi biomateriali in ambito aerospaziale. Basilio Busà ha una formazione accademica in odontoiatria. Coltiva da sempre una forte passione per la biologia, l’agricoltura e il territorio etneo in cui è nato e vive. La sua passione per la biologia lo ha portato a realizzare un laboratorio personale, dove da più di un decennio conduce ricerche in campo micologico. Collabora con diverse università, tra cui la Sapienza e l’Università di Messina, focalizzandosi sull’utilizzo dei funghi nella realizzazione di biomateriali e il loro utilizzo in sostenibilità e valorizzazione del territorio etneo. Ad oggi, continua le sue ricerche sui funghi in un progetto di divulgazione scientifica e incontri culturali presso suo apiario indoor tra i boschi dell’ Etna.
