Changing is choosing to resemble our true selves | Irene Forti | TEDxPolignano a Mare
The society we live in tends to see change as a threat, inconsistency as a fault, and consistency as a moral obligation. But the truth is that we are not defined by the choices we made at twenty. The real issue lies in the lack of courage to question those choices when they no longer reflect who we are. Although it may be frightening to change our minds about who we think we are, it is essential that this possibility remains open. We are not a sum of consistencies: evolution means staying true to who we are today, not who we were yesterday. Irene Forti is a professional with a multidisciplinary background that integrates business management, human resources, and coaching psychology. After earning a degree in Business and Management from LUISS University in Rome, she pursued further studies in International Human Resources at Westminster University and completed an MSc in Coaching Psychology at Birkbeck, University of London, gaining accreditation from the Association for Business Psychology. After years as an HR Director in tech and creative companies in London—leading organizational transformation and human potential development—she chose to deepen her expertise to have a broader, more meaningful impact on people’s lives. She complemented her managerial background with advanced training in Coaching Psychology and cognitive neuroscience at Birkbeck.
In 2020, she founded HomeMeansCasa, a coaching practice and mind-body space based in Rome and operating online This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
