As an international-school student since elementary school, Mehek had everything she needed to explore and understand the world of math and science. A visit to a rural school in India taught her this wasn’t the case everywhere. So she took on a challenge to address the issue. Mehek is a Grade 10 student with a strong passion for science and mathematics, and for addressing education inequality. For her International Baccalaureate personal project, she is designing a cost-effective math-and-science kit to provide hands-on experiments and learning opportunities in underdeveloped communities of rural India. Outside of academics, Mehek enjoys music, badminton, dance, art and cross-country running.
