The talk will focus on autism, approached through the personal experience of a father raising a child on the spectrum. Through his story, the challenges as well as the unique perspectives that come with parenting an autistic child will be highlighted. At the same time, the importance of understanding, empathy, and acceptance will be discussed, in creating an environment that supports the growth and well-being of individuals on the autism spectrum. An award-winning author in both Greece and the United States, with personal books and contributions to anthologies. He is an activist dedicated to raising awareness about autism and an active member of sports committees for children on the spectrum.He lives in a colorful home in Athens with his wife, their two children, and a small Chihuahua. Numerous print and digital media outlets have featured interviews and tributes about him and his work.His latest novel, The Special Child, published by Bell in a bookstore edition, was honored by Athens Voice as “Book of the Year.” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
