In today’s efficiency-driven society, people have little room to appreciate “noise”—to the point that some even watch movies at double speed. Professor Inoue argues that what may seem like wasteful “noise” is, in fact, a potential treasure trove of creativity, especially from the perspective of the humanities, his area of expertise. His talk will offer us a chance to reconsider the value of “noise,” which we often overlook in our pursuit of productivity. Professor at Keio University, faculty of Letters, Department of Humanities and Social Science (Literature) / Sociolinguist This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
