DAL GENE AL MEME: la nomea come eredità culturale. | Gianluca Lo Stimolo | TEDxTursi
Lo speech parte da una riflessione provocatoria: la nostra eredità genetica è destinata a diluirsi e scomparire, complici anche la crisi demografica globale e il crollo dei tassi di natalità. In poche generazioni, di noi non resterà quasi nulla a livello biologico.
La vera domanda allora diventa: cosa resterà di noi quando i nostri geni svaniranno? Non case, aziende o beni materiali, ma piuttosto idee, simboli, segni, storie e filosofie: ciò che Richard Dawkins ha definito memi, le unità di trasmissione culturale che, come i geni, si replicano ed evolvono, ma lo fanno attraverso l’influenza su pensieri e azioni.
La nostra società ci spinge però all’omologazione e al non “dare nell’occhio”, portando le persone a nascondersi, a non lasciare alcuna traccia significativa. Ma se ci nascondiamo, nessuno ci troverà. L’unico modo per essere ricordati è distinguersi con autenticità, responsabilità e coraggio, costruendo un patrimonio memetico fatto di gesti, idee, stili, convinzioni e creazioni che possano incidere sul futuro.
Lo Stimolo intreccia questa visione con la sua storia personale: il suo bisnonno, campiere in Sicilia, fu ucciso dalla mafia per il furto di bestiame (abigeato). Da quell’epoca nacque la pratica di marchiare gli animali: il concetto stesso di brand. Forse per destino, lui stesso ha dedicato la sua vita al personal branding, aiutando imprenditori e professionisti a diventare volti riconoscibili, non per ego, ma per ego-altruismo: mettere il proprio talento al servizio degli altri.
Questa, afferma, è la nuova Rinascenza: trasformare la propria unicità in un’eredità utile, lasciare idee e contributi che diventino un patrimonio culturale.
La conclusione è un invito e un augurio: costruire la propria nomea come lascito memetico, il segno che rimarrà del nostro passaggio sulla Terra. Non per vanità, ma per generare impatto e continuità.
