The Power of Believing Before Becoming | Kaziah Liz Mejo | TEDxADIS Muroor Youth
Every great journey begins with belief—even before there's proof. In The Power of Believing Before Becoming, Kaziah Liz Mejo shares how self-belief can be the most powerful catalyst for growth, achievement, and transformation. Through personal stories and heartfelt insights, she explores the mindset shift that turns dreams into action and potential into reality. A trained artist with 13 years of experience in five classical dance forms, she brings grace and discipline to everything she does. She's also trained in karate and kalaripayattu and plays both the drums and the violin—a rare blend of strength, rhythm, and elegance.
Her screen debut came in the Malayalam film Shylock, and today, she’s pursuing a degree in law, proving that intelligence and ambition are at the heart of her journey. With dreams of becoming a globally known actress and model, she is driven by a deeper mission—to inspire, uplift, and create lasting change.
A passionate advocate for education with a full stomach, she believes that no child should ever have to choose between hunger and learning. Through her campaigns promoting sustainable menstrual hygiene, she’s working to break stigmas and champion dignity for all.
With every step she takes, she moves closer to a future where beauty meets purpose and where dreams are not just followed—but fulfilled. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

- 10:37Curiosity and the Cat | Tessa Parker | TEDxUC IrvineTessa Parker explores the beauty and frustration of the unknown, from the mystery of consciousness to the vastness of infinity. She reflects on how questions without answers can cause anxiety, but also fuel endless curiosity. Drawing from science, philosophy, and personal experience, Tessa makes a case for embracing uncertainty as a catalyst for growth. In a world full of unknowables, the pursuit of knowledge itself is what keeps us moving forward. Currently studying neurobiology at UCI (on exchange) as a recipient of the Fulbright Killam fellowship, she's interested in all things to do with the brain and health policy. Back home in Toronto, she is the president of her school's Pre-Medical society and in 2023, revived a non-profit in her hometown of Edmonton, which serves and connects with the homeless community on Sunday evenings every week. She hopes to pursue an MD-PhD, advocating for free and accessible healthcare along the way.
