Didem talked about the magic of stories in shaping personalities and connecting a person to the culture. She cited the stories that shaped her childhood and helped her become the artist she is today. A storyteller, and educator; Didem studied Turkish Language and Literature at Uludağ University and History of Religions at Dokuz Eylül University. She worked at the Yunus Emre Institute in Germany, Sarajevo and Beirut. Didem has performed in several international festivals and has organized workshops for adults and children. She worked with refugee children in Istanbul and Kilis and prepared a book of stories written by children with the My Story Project. She has a poetry book called My Heart Resists Time Like This.
