In this powerful TEDx talk, medical microbiologist Prof. Dorcas Obiri-Yeboah shares groundbreaking insights from her research and practical measures that can help protect lives.From early screening to innovative prevention strategies, Prof. Obiri-Yeboah sheds light on how communities and individuals can take action against cervical cancer today, ensuring a healthier tomorrow. Prof. Dorcas Obiri-Yeboah is a Professor of Clinical Microbiology at the University of Cape Coast, where she also serves as Deputy Director at the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC). As clinician-scientist, her work focuses on HIV, HPV, and viral hepatitis, with over 120 peer-reviewed publications. She is Ghana’s Ambassador for the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS) and contributed to the most recent WHO cervical cancer screening guidelines. She’s a former Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC and a global voice in infectious disease research and women’s health with a focus on elimination of cervical cancer.
