Demystifying black box thinking and gut feeling | Chada Benmahcene | TEDxAURAK

• Core theme: Chada Benmahcene explores the tension between "black box thinking"—rigorous, data-driven processes—and the human intuition that guides instinctive decisions.• Data vs. Gut: She emphasizes that while structured frameworks and analytics help us learn from mistakes and improve systematically, instinct remains invaluable, especially in complex or ambiguous situations.• Finding balance: The key message is to pair analytical scrutiny with calibrated intuition—use data to inform your gut, and let intuition guide areas where data falls short or isn't timely. Chada is the CEO and founder of ENTROGX Ventures, with over 13 years of experience in women and youth activism and community engagement. She has 10 years of experience in energy tech multinationals and over 7 years working with startups. Chada focuses on empowering communities by mentoring young entrepreneurs, women in STEM, and aspiring tech enthusiasts throughout the Arab world. She has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Dubai for 2023 by WomenPreneur and named one of the 100 Arab Female Heroes in Volunteering by BBC. Additionally, she was honored as Distinguished Alumni of the Year 2019 by MEPI. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
