Conversational AI for Migrant Workers | Alexander Tsai Yih-Rae | TEDxBencoolen St Youth

The surge of interest in LLMs such as ChatGPT or Gemini has prompted the question of their usefulness in cultivating saving habits. In this talk, Alexander Tsai Yih-Rae discuss various aspects of LLMs, including personalisation, attitudes towards LLMs, and the efficacy of multi-modal approaches. Alexander ground this in the context of enhancing financial literacy for migrant workers using conversational AI. Alexander is a second-year student from the College Of Integrative Studies, SMU. His major explores the intersection between computer science and psychology — how AI can drive behavioural change. As a Reach Alliance researcher, he investigates how conversational AI can enhance financial literacy in migrant workers in Singapore. Outside of the academic realm, he enjoys making floral arrangements and baking. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
