The Wonder & Mystery of Nonhuman Music | Alejandro Sabillón | TEDxKU

This talk explores the concept of music as a universal experience, extending beyond human expression to encompass the sounds and potential musicality of flora, fauna, and future synthetic consciousnesses. There’s a very short poem by Kobayashi Issa that says,“On a branchfloating downrivera cricket, singing.”I believe this perfectly encapsulates our shared predicament of being alive on Earth. I wanted to be a part of TEDxKU to illuminate the many surprising, unseen, and astonishing ways in which life sings on this planet, as we all “float downriver” together. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
