Removing the Romance Taboo | Shengtong Yan | TEDxYouth@JLHS

Why is teen love so strictly forbidden in high school, yet marriage so urgently expected after graduation? Shengtong Yan challenges this contradiction with real-life school rules and psychological research, revealing how a lack of emotional education creates hidden risks for young people. Her talk asks: how can we write our life’s love letter if we’ve never practiced emotional spelling? Shengtong Yan is a senior 2 student in Jinling High School. She owns her own Ceramic Club and has very special painting style. She is interested thinking about everything she observes. This time, Jinling High School's policies gave her a lot to think about. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
