Dreams to Reality | Seyed E. Hasnain | TEDxSharda University
Aspirations, Challenges and Success go hand in hand. Higher the aspiration, higher is the magnitude of failure, struggle, sacrifice and eventually, success. The difference between a runner on the ground and the one on the podium is the ability to rise beyond mental barriers. The way to success involves setting the right goals, being prepared to struggle, learning the right qualities, and focusing on the process instead of worrying about the result. Start early, adapt to situations, be self-reliant, and let your direction be defined by yourself. Greatness lies in persistence and the willingness to sacrifice for your aspirations. Professor Seyed E. Hasnain, a Padma Shri recipient, is renowned for his work in DNA fingerprinting and tuberculosis. He led India's Basmati rice DNA case, ensuring economic benefits and establishing a certification system. As Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, he elevated it to India's top university. A global scientist and policy-maker, he drafted the DNA Profiling Bill and received Germany’s Order of Merit. His contributions span science, education, and institution-building. - 16:33How to lead adaptively when there are no clear answers | Farayi Chipungu | TEDxKlagenfurtWhen a young widow in Zimbabwe said “This is not my water to carry,” she wasn’t just resisting tradition, she was showing what leadership looks like when no clear answer exists. In this talk, Harvard lecturer and leadership advisor Farayi Chipungu introduces adaptive leadership — the kind we need when the challenge isn’t technical, but deeply human. Whether in families, boardrooms, or global systems, she shares how real change begins with three questions: What do we keep? What do we let go? Where must we innovate? Farayi Chipungu helps people do hard things—together. A lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Law School, she teaches leadership, change, and how to navigate the high-stakes, messy moments where clarity is rare and courage is required. With a background in corporate law and nearly a decade at McKinsey, Farayi brings real-world grit to every room she’s in, whether advising Fortune 500 leaders, coaching changemakers, or challenging students to ask braver questions and take smarter risks. Part strategist, part coach, part lawyer, part researcher, she’s known helping people lead with courage, clarity, and just enough chaos to disappoint people at a rate that they can tolerate.
