More than a game: Perseverance, Family, and the Beautiful Struggle | Dylan Xie | TEDxLeadways School
What does it mean to truly live in today’s world? For Dylan, soccer has been more than a game; it has been a teacher. Through stories of perseverance in the face of painful setbacks and the unexpected strength found in family during the pandemic, this talk explores how the lessons learned on the field extend far beyond sports. In an age of constant pressure from academics and social media, it reminds us that living fully means pushing through obstacles, appreciating the people who stand beside us, and finding joy in the journey. Dylan Xie is a rising sophomore at Leland High School and a dedicated athlete with a lifelong passion for sports. Having played in league soccer since the age of five, he has grown up on the field, developing not only his skills but also his teamwork and leadership. Dylan continues to pursue his love for the game through both school and club competitions. Outside of soccer, he enjoys staying active and challenging himself in new ways. Through his TEDx talk, he hopes to share his reflections on the discipline, resilience, and joy that sports bring to life.
