Dr. Jessica Hylton fuses activism with art in raw, unforgettable verse. Through poetry reading, she shares how feminist poetry can rewrite dominant narratives and why language is a tool for both liberation and resistance. Jessica K. Hylton holds a Ph.D. from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She has published two collections, Gag Order—a collection of protest poetry in erasure form based on Trump’s speeches, and The Great Scissor Hunt—a collection based on the complexities of what happens after coming out of the closet. She current works at Kansas State University Salina and remains politically active, though she does have to get approval on her escapades from her beloved dog, Goose, who is arguably just as intense as she is. Mimarlığın ifade gücünü moda dünyasına taşıyarak sürdürülebilirlik ve yaratıcılığı buluşturuyor. Onun hikâyesi, sınırlı imkânlarda dahi disiplin, çalışkanlık ve hayal gücüyle nelerin mümkün olabileceğini gösteriyor. Kendi sözleriyle: “İçinde doğduğumuz her neyse, hiçbirisi bizim sahip olduğumuz tek şey değil. Bağlamlar bizi geriye çeker, kimliklere hapseder. Oysa özgürlük, hiçbir bağlama ait olmadan, bir flaneur gibi kaybolabilmekte saklıdır. Üniversitede Lead21 Fellow olarak geleceğin lider adayı 21 öğrencisinden biri seçildi. Sıfır bütçeyle başlattığı ŞansVer projesiyle öğrenciler arasında sürdürülebilir kıyafet takası sistemini kurdu. Arjantin’de yalnızca yedi kişinin kabul edildiği uluslararası moda projesinde Türkiye’yi temsil etti. Kariyerinde Road Global ile Amerika pazarına açılan moda markalarıyla çalıştı; ardından Hermès’te görev aldı. 24 yaşında Pentomé Studio’yu kurdu ve mimari tasarımını üstlendiği stüdyo, büyük bir yatırımla hayata geçti. Bugün markalar için mekân ve vitrin tasarımı, koleksiyon danışmanlığı ve prodüksiyon çalışmaları yürütüyor; Amerika’da ise SLN Tekstil’in marka operasyonlarını yönetiyor.
