Com lucidez e indignação, Beatriz Carvalho Barros, de apenas 12 anos, confronta a negligência com a história, o silêncio imposto ao passado e a destruição de legados que deveriam nos guiar. Unindo literatura, arqueologia e memória coletiva, Beatriz resgata a trajetória de Luzia — o fóssil humano mais antigo das Américas — e denuncia a violência simbólica da mineração e do incêndio no Museu Nacional. Sua fala é um chamado urgente: se o passado tem voz, por que seguimos fingindo que não ouvimos? Entre Galeano e Guimarães Rosa, Beatriz nos lembra que dar voz ao passado é o único caminho para um futuro com consciência. Eu sou Beatriz Carvalho, tenho 12 anos e gosto muito de ler livros de diversos temas, porque acredito que cada história abre uma nova forma de enxergar o mundo. No meu TEDx, vou falar sobre o legado que as pessoas deixam para a sociedade. Vou trazer o discurso de Guimarães Rosa na Academia Brasileira de Letras, a questão da mineração na Gruta da Lapa 1 e 4, o incêndio no Museu Nacional do Rio de Janeiro, as palavras do escritor Eduardo Galeano e outros exemplos que mostram como cultura, memória e conhecimento precisam ser preservados para o futuro. Vijay Gadepally is a Senior Scientist and PI at the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Supercomputing Center and a Visiting Scientist with MIT Connection Science. Vijay is also the Co-founder/CTO of Radium Cloud - a company focused on providing high performance cloud computing for GenAI workloads - and advises multiple early-stage venture backed startups. At MIT, Vijay was a founding member of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Supercomputing Center and currently leads numerous research efforts focused on high performance computing, artificial intelligence, high performance databases and environmentally-friendly computing. Vijay holds a M.Sc. and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University and a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. Vijay’s research in high performance computing, artificial intelligence and environmentally-friendly computing has been featured in numerous articles in the popular press and has received numerous scholarly awards from professional societies. Vijay also serves on several advisory committees including those convened by the National Academies, World Economic Forum, and Open Compute Project, amongst others. In 2017, Vijay was named to AFCEA’s inaugural 40 under 40 list and was awarded MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s Early Career Technical Achievement Award. In 2011, Vijay received an Outstanding Graduate Student Award at The Ohio State University. - 8:29Dança do Vilão - Apresentação Grupo Folclórico | Dança do Vilão Grupo | TEDxSão Francisco do SulO Vilão é um folguedo que apresenta influência africana e também do chamado Jogo do Pau, prática tradicional realizada em tempos remotos em Portugal. Chegou a São Francisco do Sul, em Santa Catarina, por volta de 1920, trazido por Romário Matias. Segundo relato de Jair Schetz, o folguedo era realizado na época da colheita da lavoura, geralmente ao lado dos engenhos de farinha. Com o passar do tempo, a tradição continuou sendo preservada graças ao interesse e à dedicação da família Schetz. A dança apresenta movimentos de ataque e defesa, em que os dançarinos, dispostos em pares, utilizam bastões de madeira rija. Jair Schetz, coordenador do Grupo Folclórico Dança do Vilão, é um guardião da memória, cidadão ilustre e figura fundamental para a preservação do patrimônio imaterial de São Francisco do Sul. Recebeu, em 2013, o título de Mestre da Cultura Popular do Ministério da Cultura e representa a cultura francisquense por meio de sua dedicação e compromisso em manter vivo o Grupo Folclórico Dança do Vilão. Sua família, que reside no Morro Grande, desenvolve um trabalho constante de manutenção dessa tradição, ensinando os movimentos da dança, a escolha da madeira adequada e todo o ritual envolvido.Jair Schetz é um guardião da memória, um cidadão ilustre e muito importante para a preservação do patrimônio imaterial na cidade de São Francisco do Sul.
