Diagnosing Breast Cancer with A.I. | Meyyammai Meyyappan & Sabari Laxmi | TEDxPOWIIS Youth

Breast cancer is the one of the deadliest and most common, affecting more than 2.3 million people globally per year. Meyyammai Meyyappan and have created a machine learning model as an accessible solution, to support healthcare professionals to help facilitate earlier detection and, hopefully more lives saved. A Year 12 student at Prince of Wales Island International School, Meyyammai has a keen interest in biological sciences and is an active student leader, who has championed various humanitarian causes among the student community.From debating in school corridors to delivering a TEDx talk, Sabari Laxmi’s journey has been shaped by an enduring intellectual curiosity and a commitment to purposeful change. She envisions a future not merely defined by dialogue, but by decisive, equitable action: where innovation is tempered by conscience, and advocacy becomes architecture for a more inclusive world. Grounded in empathy and driven by inquiry, Sabari hopes to amplify the voices often unheard and help reshape the systems that govern them.
