Celebrating Nagaland's legacy and weaving its spirit into the Spotlight. After completing a tailoring course in Mumbai, she went on to do a Diploma in Clothing Industry Studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT University) in 2001, at Melbourne, Australia.
Upon her return to Nagaland, she started her own design label Bambi K, specializing in bridal couture with clean and understated elegance. Bambi Kevichüsa, a fashion designer from Nagaland, is celebrated for her couture bridal work under the label Bambi K, creating wedding dresses for clients across India and abroad. She also runs Windfall, a concept store in Dimapur. Known for blending traditional Naga designs with sustainable fabrics and colours, she champions eco-fashion, believing designers have a responsibility to future generations. Bambi has represented North East India at global events in Istanbul, Paris, New Delhi, and Hanoi, with one of her garments on permanent display at the Horniman Museum, London. Beyond fashion, she actively volunteers with Team Better Dimapur to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness, and is also a musician who enjoys singing and playing keyboards with local rock bands. There is no prerequisite to stepping on a stage and making it your own, and I invite you to join me. Deya Nurani is a 19-year-old singer, songwriter, and columnist based in Southern California. As the creator of the Dhaka Tribune's Seen And Heard column, Nurani makes use of her international perspective to discuss representation and coming-of-age in the digital era. She has been a performer and a writer since infancy, intersecting advocacy and artistry in her work. Most recently, her original poem Adhan was selected to be published in The America Library of Poetry's upcoming Excellence collection. Aside from singing and writing, she enjoys volunteering, listening to music, and denying caffeine addict allegations.
