Marieli Mallmann, drawing from her own experience as a class fugitive — someone who has broken through social barriers but carries the marks of displacement — reflects on the impacts of education, public policies, and the feeling of not belonging across social classes.
A powerful account of belonging, memory, and the power of words as a tool for social justice. Marieli Mallmann was born in Rio Grande do Sul, in 1995. Driven by curiosity, she studied Pharmacy and Fashion in college and is currently studying curatorship and literature in preparation for writing her first book. She is a digital communicator for a community of 180,000 people on Instagram and the host of the Podcast Simples, where she leads conversations about social life through the lens of design, exploring themes such as identity, memory, and human relationships. Born in Ukraine, he grew up hiding his identity due to a lack of LGBTQ+ role models. Moving to Germany in 2004 allowed him to come out and embrace his true self, sparking his commitment to diversity and inclusion. Pavlo shifted from a luxury retail career to become a social entrepreneur and mentor. He founded Queermentor gGmbH, the first digital mentoring platform for LGBTQIA+ youth and allies, connecting hundreds with mentors for career and confidence growth. His work earned the Impact of Diversity Award 2022 and a StartSocial Award from the German Chancellor. Pavlo is also the author of “Diversity Upgrade,” a guide to unlearning bias and building inclusion.
