The complicated power of dopamine | Franciska de Beer | TEDxUniversityofGroningen

One tiny thing that runs the show, Dopamine. Franciska de Beer uncovers how this single chemical drives our motivation, shapes mental health, and interacts with the medications we rely on. Through powerful storytelling and science, she brings the brain to life and reveals why understanding it might just change how we live. Franciska de Beer is a neuroscientist and PhD student at the University Medical Center Groningen. She studies antipsychotic medication for psychosis, the dopamine system, and women's health. Franciska is a guest curator in the exhibition Brainstorm on how our brain works and is the initiator of the project Science on Wednesday, which illustrates neuroscience with artworks. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
