Reality at a Distance | Haotian Zhang | TEDxHKU

Haotian Zhang invites us to take a step back to navigate the torrent of AI advancements. This can be done through the process of dissecting, understanding and regaining creative agency over reality. Haotian Zhang is an architecture lecturer at the University of Hong Kong. As an architectural designer and a digital artist, his teaching and research revolve around (sur)realistic digital representation and rural Chinese futurism. He co-founded FrankanLisa with Tianying Li, a design studio specialising in architecture, digital art, and making. His work has been exhibited at various venues internationally, including Carnegie Museum of Art, National Building Museum (US), Beijing Design Week, and Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture in addition to multiple galleries and institutes. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
