Borghi dimenticati, la rinascita con i nomadi digitali | Salvatore Gulfo | TEDxTursi
I borghi dimenticati non sono soltanto luoghi di nostalgia e silenzio, ma spazi pieni di potenziale in attesa di rinascere. In questo talk, Salvatore Gulfo racconta la sua esperienza personale: dal lockdown vissuto in un bilocale a Roma al ritorno nel suo borgo natale, Tursi, in Basilicata. Qui ha dato vita a Tursi Digital Nomads, un progetto che ha trasformato borghi in via di spopolamento in luoghi vivi, connessi e internazionali, capaci di accogliere professionisti da tutto il mondo.
La sua storia dimostra che i margini possono tornare al centro, che la tecnologia può restituire vita a luoghi dimenticati, e che la vera Rinascenza nasce dall’impegno collettivo: quando cittadini, comunità e nomadi digitali scelgono di esserci.
Questo talk è una chiamata all’azione: ripensare i borghi come laboratori di futuro, di comunità e di umanità. Perché nei luoghi che qualcuno chiama margini possiamo ritrovare il nostro centro. Ed ogni volta che una comunità rinasce dimostra che il destino non è scritto! Salvatore Gulfo è un ingegnere e imprenditore sociale che ha scelto di trasformare i luoghi ai “margini” in nuove centralità. Dopo un’esperienza professionale a Roma nel settore IT, durante la pandemia ha deciso di tornare nel suo borgo natale, Tursi (Basilicata), e di dare vita a Tursi Digital Nomads, il primo progetto del Sud Italia dedicato ai lavoratori da remoto e ai nomadi digitali.
In pochi anni, Salvatore ha contribuito a creare comunità internazionali nei borghi lucani, trasformando luoghi a rischio di spopolamento in spazi di innovazione, incontro e scambio culturale. Con il suo lavoro ha connesso tradizioni e futuro, autenticità locale e respiro globale, dimostrando che la tecnologia può diventare un ponte per la rinascita dei territori. Oggi porta avanti progetti di rigenerazione sociale ed economica nei borghi italiani e all’estero, dimostrando che è possibile creare impresa innovativa e profittevole anche in quei luoghi che molti considerano ai margini.
