Social Leadership | MOHAN LAL BADOLI | TEDxShiva Shiksha Sadan Youth

In this thought-provoking Talk, the speaker redefines leadership through a lens of humility, purpose, and collective progress. Challenging the notion that leadership is about authority or power, the talk reminds us that true leadership is about service. Rooted in the timeless principle of “Seva Parmo Dharma” — service is the highest duty, it explores how genuine leaders listen deeply, empathize sincerely, and act selflessly to uplift others. The talk invites audiences to see leadership not as a position, but as a practice — one that transforms individual ambition into collective growth. When vision aligns with empathy and action is guided by service, leadership transcends politics and becomes a force for unity, empowerment, and nation-building. Ultimately, it’s a call to everyone — regardless of profession or role — to lead through service, integrity, and compassion, shaping a future grounded in shared purpose and human connection. I am Mohan Lal Badoli, an Indian politician from Sonipat, Haryana, currently serving as the State Party President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Haryana. As a thought leader and social worker, I have been actively engaged in the development and welfare of the people of Sonipat district. Over the years, I have contributed to strengthening the party’s organization in Haryana by taking on diverse responsibilities and fostering grassroots connect. In 2019, I was elected as a Member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from the Rai constituency, creating history as the first-ever BJP candidate to win this seat. Earlier, during the tenure of Honourable Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, I was elected as a Zila Parishad member, marking the beginning of my active political journey. Alongside my political commitments, I continue to stay connected to my roots as a farmer and entrepreneur, working to uphold the values of dedication, service, and integrity in public life. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
