Cos’è la sofferenza? Perché l’essere umano la rifugge, relegandola ad un momento “da dimenticare” della propria vita?
Attraverso la mia esperienza personale e lavorativa, ho cercato di esplorare le pieghe più profonde di questo stato d’animo, sottolineandone invece il suo ruolo fondamentale, declinato in diversi aspetti della vita, per arrivare ad una più profonda conoscenza di sé stessi, dei propri limiti, per cercare di superarli; per cercare di diventare persone migliori e per vivere pienamente la propria vita. Antonio Mazzella è medico specializzato in chirurgia toracica con dottorato in medicina traslazionale e diploma in oncologia toracica presso l’Università Paris Descartes. Si è formato in Francia con maestri di fama internazionale come Jean-François Regnard, Marco Alifano e Françoise Barthes. Attualmente lavora presso l’Istituto Europeo di Oncologia di Milano, diretto dal prof. Lorenzo Spaggiari, centro di eccellenza nella chirurgia toracica oncologica. Esperto in chirurgia mininvasiva e robotica, mette al servizio dei pazienti competenza, passione e umanità. Il suo approccio si ispira a un principio guida: “Curare la persona, non la malattia”.
